Our Mission

My name is Arden Pala, and i am a 14-year-old freshman at Francis Parker and the founder of a 501C3 nonprofit Sports4Kids, with a mission to create a brighter future for the young individuals in our community who are facing homelessness.

More than 20,000 youth experience homelessness in San Diego County and youth make up about 20 percent of the county’s unsheltered homeless population. An estimated one in 30 youth from age 13 to 17 is expected to experience some type of homelessness this year.

Through various volunteer opportunities tailored for children of all ages, we actively engage in initiatives dedicated to making a positive impact, including feeding the homeless, supplying back-to-school backpacks to financially needy families, and offering support through care packages for individuals without homes.

Our primary focus is to provide opportunities for all low-income youth to play sports while building physical and social skills that will serve them for a lifetime. When these kids are given the same opportunities as those with access to the proper resources, many of them find benefits that help them in their future. Team skills, positive health effects, and abilities related to social interaction are just a few of the benefits. Very few charities have programs that are aimed at children and their families, which makes it difficult for people with young children to perform charity work. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.

Our Story

Kids4Sports was founded by young community organizer Arden Pala with the help of friends and family. Early on, he volunteered at soup kitchens, which sparked his passion to give back to the community and take action.

Arden’s first charitable project was to produce and direct a documentary that shed light to the homeless situation in San Diego.

He named his documentary “A Second Chance” after hearing stories of people from all walks of life.  He believes that when given a second chance they can get back on track and said, time spent with the homeless and the organization that supports them gives him hope.

“I wrote it, I directed it, and I thought of the idea. I decided to make this documentary so I can hep the city, not just the city, but homelessness in general and all of the United States”

The documentary won many awards including: SoCal Film Award, Creators Film Festival Award, American Youth Film Festival
